URGENT: Glitch at Pokerstars!

28 04 2010

After finishing a game the opponent sees ur balance from time to time, instead of his own! It happened twice to me already and I just proved it with treezer and a $2 HU. I made a screenshot and sent it to Pokerstars Security.

I have no idea if it’s really a dangerous glitch, but I suggest not to play atm, cuz it seems to be unsure what happens when a busted fish clicks the “accept rematch” button with YOUR “available balance” shown instead of his own.

For more ongoing information please see the 2+2 HU SNG reg thread.

Thx, PlauZee

Two SNE’s got banned forever

28 04 2010

Today’s news as short as possible:

  • My girl will arrive one day earlier than I thought, so I won’t participate in the “reg only HU MTT”.
  • The first three episodes of “National Heads Up Poker Championship 2010″ are online and can be viewed on youtube in HD. (Btw: will they ever improve their video quality at pokertube?!)
  • Two SNE’s got banned very recently. You can read the whole story at the blog of “furbean who is one of both players who got banned by Pokerstars for ever. First site is his apology, but you will find his “strategy” of teaming up and the mails between Pokerstars Security and him and his friend “fua9999” as well.
They teamed up for years and finally got banned. It seems very odd that nobody found out about it before, especially cuz there was almost no 3bet action between these two guys who are now banned for ever. It took very long the security staff finally realized the guys were folding KK preflop if the other had AA and teaming up all the time, but it’s still a very nice decision not just to punish, but to ban them forever.
One of those very good reasons to play Heads-Up Poker when playing online. I really don’t wanna know how many regs or semi-regs “trying to maximize their edge” while teaming up with more than two players sitting at a table.

Sunday Review – grats to “147_star”

27 04 2010

Time for another update. Not only, because I’m back in the black for April, but it’s a good reason as well of course. I had a very juicy session as another “Friday Night Fight” playing exactly 100 HU SNGs and won 64 of them, a nice profit of $9,485. I finally run better now and think I play even better than I did before the bad run of last weeks. I still play the “smaller buyins”, 230s-570s and feel very comfortable crushing them. Actual stats: +$2,425 in April, 95k VPPs in April, 445k VPPs total.

The FTOPs HU Event was very, very nice! 1024 players and I’d guess more than 80% of them were unexperienced in played HU SNGs. I had a deal with “treezer” running, but we both busted already in round 2. The blind-structure was very slow and in the end I played 220 hands against my opponent in round 2 before I lost a pre-allin with AQ vs AK. Nothing special, but very ugly to have such a setup after I had him down to less than 600 chips (10% of all chips in play) already 3 times before. Just one of those games you think it’s just impossible to win.

Sunday night was the time of “147_star“, a HU SNG reg I team up with at 115-230s, took down the “Sunday Million” worth $258,000. There was no deal, just a great aggressive show of a HU SNG reg.
Gratulations dude, it was really fun to watch the replay! The full review will be nutz, I guess. He won almost every pot when they were down to 6handed and less. Mbn to be an agressive HU SNG reg crushing scared money players. 8)

Just spoke with him at msn…
147_star: yeah, i get to go to the bank today
147_star: what’s your job? ahh i’m technically unemployed but i play poker
Chris: hehehe yes
147_star: o ok, and what can i do for you? o i was just saying expeced a hundred of thousand or so coming in soon!

“PompYouUp”, another HU SNG reg made it very deep as well…
147_star: pompyouup was like 5outered for a top 3 stack with about 2-3tables left
147_star: ridic
Chris: srsly? wow. didnt see that
147_star: yeah, with 100 left i was like 5th he was 7th or something, he got so unlucky was just wrong
Chris: wow sick
147_star: and he didn’t offer a swap when ther was 100 left which i guess would have been plus EV for both but i’m happy enough!
Chris: did u ask him for a swap?
147_star: na, i thought i’d accept if he asked but didn’t want to offer it…i’m greedy!!

FTOPs HU Event, 500k garanteed

23 04 2010

Sunday, April 25th, the next big HU Event will take place at FullTilt. Buyin is $535 with a garanteed prizepool of $500,000. I couldn’t make it deeper in any of those bigger HU MTTs, yet. Hopefully I will run better this time and there won’t be two guys sitting out at the same table in round one (last time it took more than 3hours until first round was over).
Gl guys, let’s ship it! 8)

“Poker Will Never Be Harder”

22 04 2010

Like most poker bloggers I really got lazy publishing new stuff when losing/running bad in poker. This may change very soon and very fast, but at the moment I really don’t like blogging much, especially cuz I hate those typical badbeat-posts. As usually when losing in a longer period it’s not only about running bad or being unlucky, but it’s often the first part before “hanging in the downswing-loop” for some days or even weeks. I haven’t played much last weeks and didn’t play high recently, cuz I just didn’t feel very comfortable, played bad in a lot of games, got angry when a fish got lucky and was kind of under-rolled to play bigger games. Overall a lot of facts just to take some steps back, play less, make more breaks than usually and come back to the tables when feeling better.
I still have a nice roll and 700k FPPs (~ $10,000) I could add to the roll as well if needed. Better sessions, days, weeks and months will come. The short run doesn’t count that much if you do well in the long run. But it can be the pain in the ass if you are not rolled enough to take those beats.
It’s not a problem at all, even though I might finish April with a small loss it’s definitely nothing to worry about. With 425,000 VPPs im still in a very nice shape to complete Supernova Elite this year.

Instead of writing more about myself I want to recommend a very interesting post by Dusty Schmidt, better known as “Leatherass” – one of the sickest CashGamers at Pokerstars. His post “Poker Will Never Be Harder” is about today’s quality in highstakes and the increasing numbers of pro’s trying to make a living being a poker pro. It’s very readable and even more interesting under the circumstances that he published his book “Treat your Poker like a Business” just some months ago.
I wondered very often why pro’s would share their key to success, but in this case it’s really weird that he has published a book about how to become a pro just some months ago and now criticizes the increasing number of pro’s. Don’t take me wrong please, I agree to his post almost 100%, but it’s so odd to read ads for his book like “Wondering how you can be your own boss?” and “Are you ready to make poker your profession?” when reading his post.

Did anyone read the book yet? I was planning to read it very soon, but would like to hear some sentences about it before.

EPT San Remo, FinalTable

21 04 2010

Allan Baekke is out and grinding HU SNGs already again, so it’s time to pick up another favorite at the actual FinalTable. Hum.. what about Liv Boeree?! 8)

–> Liv Boeree’s Website

–> Live-Stream of the FinalTable
(same as yesterday)

Edit:
It seems like I run pretty well in choosing my favorites. 8)
Liv Boeree won the EPT, you can read the whole story at the Pokerstars-Blog.
