I played the $215 HU MTT, but busted in the bubble-round in a match full of setups. At least a friend of mine who gave me 30% for decent help could cash $900, so I somehow made my 3rd cash in a HU MTT. Amazing how bad I run in these Heads-Up tournaments so far.
I won $700 in the AnteUp MTT and was able to increase my WCCOP winnings to $3,557. My goal is to reach $5,200 and to change the full amount of free WCOOP-$ into cash. So far I’m pretty sure I can do it and hope to have a deep run in one of those 13 events I gonna play.
After I had recognized how juicy those 2nd chances WCOOP events I asked the support to change my two $1,050 WCOOP tickets into some smaller (now I have 1x$530, 2x$320, 1×265, 6x$215 and 3×109 WCCOP-freeroll-tickets left). Even though I did pretty well in the first 1k MTT I didn’t like to start such a tournament at 2am again. I’m a Leatherass, but not that much a fan of those long rides starting after midnight. Talking about Leatherass: I started reading his book “Treat your Poker like a business” and really enjoyed the first part of the book a lot. He’s talking about rules and strategies of his game-management and how he takes his business. It was fun for me to see lot of similarities to my game-management and the way I treat poker or guys like treezer do – his style is very close to Leatherass’. The second part of the book is about strategies and how to play different hands. Pretty boring to me and the reason why I haven’t complete reading it yet.
Yesterday was the first day in weeks when I tilted after losing some hyperturbo-satellites. I still made about 1k profit crushing some smaller HU SNGs, but realized I need to focus more on my basic game or just to take those breaks when I’m not in the mood for HU SNGs. I’m still down about 2k this month, but can’t complain about my EV so far.
Today I received a mail regarding the PCA Bahamas 2011 with some information about the accommodation and the upgraded rooms for SNEs. This trip gonna be nutz!
I won’t have time to play the following satellite, but I’d recommend it to every serious Heads-Up player:
“September 17th 15:30 ET, WCOOP-39 $25,500 High-Roller HU 40,000 FPP Supernova+ Heads-up qualifier with 1 seat and $5,000 cash static prize pool. The winner of this 32-player-capped tournament MUST play WCOOP-39.”
I will take a break until Sunday and play event #39, $530 2-day MTT, grind some HU SNGs and probably play the weekly HU MTT as well.
Gl guys and make sure one of you will reach at least quarterfinal in the next HU MTT, it’s such a shame all regs busted so early and let fishes take it down.
