Interview with IntelliPoker & BlackCard Member at FTP

30 09 2010

I recently made a German interview for IntelliPoker which is online, now. You can use this link to get the google translated version in English. Additionally to that I will add a “FAQ” very soon on my website where I’ll try to answer to most common questions.

Just some minutes ago I received a mail from FullTiltPoker:

“Congratulations PlauZee,

In recognition of your play at Full Tilt Poker, we are pleased to announce that you are one of the first players to earn your exclusive Black Card membership.
(…)
We have selected you for Black Card membership based on your elite play over the past 100 days. To keep your Black Card Status, you’ll need to maintain a minimum rolling 100-day average of 500 Full Tilt Points.”

I didn’t play at FTP last month at all, so I was very surprised they gonna send me their VIP card. I have $4.53 at their site atm(nope, no “k” missing! lol). But.. well, why not. I just didn’t know it might be that easy to get FullTiltPoker’s version of SupernovaElite. At least some guys think it might become similar to PokerStars’ VIP program – I’m pretty sure it won’t, I don’t know all the details yet, though.

I’m up 14,3k this month atm, gonna grind some more games tonight and would be very happy if I’ll be able to reach 15k this month.

Gl and have fun at the tables!
Chris

WCOOP Review

27 09 2010

Thanks to the free 5,200-WCCOP-$ I played a lot of MTTs this month and didn’t focus much/enough on HU SNGs. I made only 3 cashes in my WCOOP-Events for about 4k and didn’t run very well in those overall. Beside those WCOOP-Events I became 2nd in a 6max and 3rd in the $109 MTT I wrote about and made about 12k in September so far, 10,8k with MTTs and qualifiers and only 1,2k with HU SNGs (Rakeback already included, so pretty baaad results there this month).

My HU SNG-graph which isn’t that great anymore after a bad month in September:

And my overall profit-graph of last 3 months which is looking veeery nice:

WCOOP is over and I hope it treated you little better than me.
.. Oh, wait… it’s not over yet. The MainEvent with $12,200,000 prizemoney is still running. And Jay from my homecity, who helped me a lot in the $109 MTT is in the money already. Not just ITM, but 2nd in chips after day 1!!
Gl broooo, let’s ship it!! :D

3rd in $109 MTT for 8,4k

24 09 2010

I’m still kinda evenish in HU SNGs this month, feel like having a sick downswing and run pretty bad. Being evenish doesn’t sound much like a downswing, I know, but my Heads-Up winnings in September are way behind EV.

Well.. When you follow my blog, you might know I don’t like to complain much about bad results when running horrible. And.. Why should I? I just made 3rd in the $109 MTT for sweet 8,4k. :D

I played a couple of MTTs recently beside the WCOOP “freerolls”, made 2nd place in the $22-Rebuy 6max MTT for 2,4k and was hoping for one of those deeper runs I finally had today.
Thx a lot to Jay, a MTT specialist, who helped me a lot at the FinalTable to stay nitty and find the best way to maximize my winnings. When I reached the FinalTable I was 6th in chips and stayed very short all the time watching every other smallstacks busting against the bigstack. The chipleader hat about 1,2M and every other player about 200k when we reached the FinalTable, so no space for blind-steals, 3bet-shoves etc. I stole the blinds only one time and folded every other hand until we were down to 3 where I start gambling and lost K2s vs J9s in my last hand. I got veery lucky at the FinalTable where the smallstacks lost to only 2 other guys and didn’t double themselves. 3rd place and 8,4k is way more than I was hoping for, thx a lot Jay!!

This is my 2nd biggest MTT cash so far, the biggest was in June when I was lucky enough to win the same tournament on a Sunday for 31k. My 3rd biggest cash was another $109 MTT when I won it in February for 8,2k. treezer, any thoughts about that rig…?!

Oh.. hai.. +11k in September now – nah, no reason to complain. 8)

Some more updates following the next days..
Gl guys!

WCOOP News

10 09 2010

I played the $215 HU MTT, but busted in the bubble-round in a match full of setups. At least a friend of mine who gave me 30% for decent help could cash $900, so I somehow made my 3rd cash in a HU MTT. Amazing how bad I run in these Heads-Up tournaments so far.
I won $700 in the AnteUp MTT and was able to increase my WCCOP winnings to $3,557. My goal is to reach $5,200 and to change the full amount of free WCOOP-$ into cash. So far I’m pretty sure I can do it and hope to have a deep run in one of those 13 events I gonna play.

After I had recognized how juicy those 2nd chances WCOOP events I asked the support to change my two $1,050 WCOOP tickets into some smaller (now I have 1x$530, 2x$320, 1×265, 6x$215 and 3×109 WCCOP-freeroll-tickets left). Even though I did pretty well in the first 1k MTT I didn’t like to start such a tournament at 2am again. I’m a Leatherass, but not that much a fan of those long rides starting after midnight. Talking about Leatherass: I started reading his book “Treat your Poker like a business” and really enjoyed the first part of the book a lot. He’s talking about rules and strategies of his game-management and how he takes his business. It was fun for me to see lot of similarities to my game-management and the way I treat poker or guys like treezer do – his style is very close to Leatherass’. The second part of the book is about strategies and how to play different hands. Pretty boring to me and the reason why I haven’t complete reading it yet.

Yesterday was the first day in weeks when I tilted after losing some hyperturbo-satellites. I still made about 1k profit crushing some smaller HU SNGs, but realized I need to focus more on my basic game or just to take those breaks when I’m not in the mood for HU SNGs. I’m still down about 2k this month, but can’t complain about my EV so far.

Today I received a mail regarding the PCA Bahamas 2011 with some information about the accommodation and the upgraded rooms for SNEs. This trip gonna be nutz! :)

I won’t have time to play the following satellite, but I’d recommend it to every serious Heads-Up player:
“September 17th 15:30 ET, WCOOP-39 $25,500 High-Roller HU 40,000 FPP Supernova+ Heads-up qualifier with 1 seat and $5,000 cash static prize pool. The winner of this 32-player-capped tournament MUST play WCOOP-39.”

I will take a break until Sunday and play event #39, $530 2-day MTT, grind some HU SNGs and probably play the weekly HU MTT as well.
Gl guys and make sure one of you will reach at least quarterfinal in the next HU MTT, it’s such a shame all regs busted so early and let fishes take it down. :)

Running horrible in HU SNGs

8 09 2010

Last night I played one of the 1k WCOOP MTT “freerolls” and busted with 2 flips as 133rd worth $2,570. I played a couple of HU SNGs beside and did pretty well until I met “loosasamoose“, most drunken fish ever. He played $570s against another reg, shoved any2 and even called any2 preflop allin (yes, even worse than “i.o.s.“! lol). He moved to 1ks afterwards, played and won the same way before I played him on 2ks. He cracked my Aces preflop twice and won all of those 40% chances. He won five 2ks vs me and could even win some 5ks vs Iftarii before he fall asleep. I’m down 4,5k this month now, but it’s ok. I liked my chances and I can’t complain doing something wrong there at any point. I will be back in the black very soon, just a matter of time.

Don’t forget the $215 HU MTT tonight and make sure to run better as I’ve done in those so far.

Gl all
