Bahamas Paradise Island - EPT 2011

Paradise Island

Thanks to the great feedback to my posts about my trip to Vegas, I will try to do something very similar about my first trip to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2011. A lot of things will be similar, but not the type of travel. Vegas was some kind of a low-budget trip, but now it’s time to start becoming baller-esque!

Arrival and Day “1a”:

Featured VIP on PCA 2011

As you can read in the PCA Magazine on page 65, I chose the PCA Package as one of my Supernove Elite rewards. Thanks to the status I got a free upgrade to a suite in the Cove Atlantis where I just start blogging while lying on the couch and enjoying the fkn awesome view over the Atlantis Island!
Before I started the trip to Bahamas I sold 40% of my PCA Main-Event action. Additionally to that I donated 2% (+2%) to “allin4kids” whose patch you will find on my clothes from Sunday, day 1b, until I’ll crush the finaltable on 15th of January. When Oli, a schoolmate, and me arrived in Miami we already noticed at the arrival a lot of pokerkids who only came to Bahamas to donate 10k to PlauZee. Thank you guys, it’s awesome to meet you in person! When I entered the airplane to Nassau I saw a looot of pokerjunkies I already knew before from playing on the internet. The airplane was fkn old and it was a fun-trip, not like one of my national flights I made in India, but already close.

View from Balcony PCA 2011When we came into turbulences I thought about how much money the pokerindustry would lose when I would fly as bad as I ran lately on Stars and if they recognized it and already tried to get insurance for those Miami-Nassau flights.
We arrived at 11pm in our suite in Cove Tower – one of those better towers where real ballers stay, not just all those wanna-be-baller-kids. After taking a shower we took a walk thru the hotel and went to the pokerroom and saw Esfandiari, Robl and some other b-poker-promis playing Cashgame. We didn’t meet all those sickos we expected to meet at first day already (cuz they already slept as we heard later) and

went clubbing to the “Aura Atlantis”. All other sickos didn’t want to have fun that night. All, but Bill Chen who was heavily drunk and had a lot of fun with us partying pretty hard until 4am. I will never forget my camera again, promise!

Paradise Island 2011

Today we had breakfast with Dennis (“2402Dennis“)  and Mario Puccini (“Pokerccini“), went to the beach and enjoyed the almost typical January-weather. I will play on day 1b and won’t play any poker today.

The Super Highroller Event is down to 4 players, so I will leave very soon to rail and take some nice photos. “OU THE NICK“, who is playing the MainEvent at the moment, will play against his 10k staked HeadsUp vs “Isildur” today. I hope to meet Nick before to talk about some interesting spots of the strategy in a battle of 100 hands in which he will only receive the pure winnings he made. Let’s see if I can take some more interesting photos today.

I will add all photos to the gallery on the bottom of the PCA 2011 page and to my facebook-page where you can find short updates more frequently.

Stay tuned and – please, don’t send me so many messages on facebook or skype. Comments to the posts or on facebook are sooo much better and help to get things interactive. Thank you guys!

Day 1b – 12hours Marathon:
It’s 1 am already, so I won’t write much today. Best way to follow me is to read facebook, I will edit and add my posts here later when I have time, probably not before busting in the MainEvent though.

Vanessa Rousso & PlauZee

Vanessa Rousso

My day started at 6am when I couldn’t sleep anymore, cuz of the JetLag and excitment to finally play my first big live event. I went to the gym, relaxed on the beach with best weather and took breakfast before I headed to the Conference Room. We didn’t party hard the night before like treezer did with isildur and some other sickos. In the end I’m glad we didn’t. treezer just told me how came 2hours late to the MainEvent cuz of his hangover. gg bro :)

My first table was pretty tough and I didn’t have many hands I could play. George Lindt III (“jorj95″) busted at our table after 3 hours in which I played like 10 hands, had no showdowns, but could increase my chipstack from 30k starting stack to 42k. Next more 2 hours didn’t happen much and I was like 35-45kish all the time until I finally found a spot to collect some chips: an agressive Italian guy opened from UTG+2 and I just called with AKo. Flop came A25 rainbow which he c-bet and I again just called. turn and river both blanked which he both bet and was allin on river with 1/2 potbet left. I called and was glad to see 87o, no draws at any time. I met fishenzon, Melanie Weisner, Primo, Scottybcash, Dibasio, LotteLenya and some other sickos today – not treezer nor pistons yet, though. :(
HUSNG player supporting allin4kidsI was up to 72k when I changed the table once again, already at 10.30 pm. I was little tired, but realized everyone just wanted to end the 12h-grind and that the new table seemed to be pretty easy, so I found a good reason to motivate myself. One of those “loose cannons” (I still don’t know his name) from the “BigGame” was sitting 2 seats next to me. Scottybcash joined my table later, everyone else was unfamiliar to me.
Between 11pm and end of Day 1b, at about midnight, I found several spots to collect decent chips. An agressive Asian tourist called my UTG raise preflop (“I feel lucky, I call”). Flop came TT9, I check AKo, as he did. Turn: Ace – second diamond, I check, he bets, I call. River: blank. I insta-check. He insta-bets 1/2 pot and mucks his cards knowing he is beat.
Just some hands later when I’m in the BB, UTG minraises, button calls as I do with K2cc. Flop is A54, all clubs. mbn to be PlauZee! I donkbet 1/3 pot and get raised by UTG. I call and see 8, no club on turn. I donkbet 1/3 again, he raises again. I think about just calling, but didn’t want to get him odds to see paired river, plus wanted to seem drawing. I raise him back, he tanks for more than 5 mins and folds. Later he told me he had pocket 8s and wondered why he ever raised the turn. wp buddy. 8)

Chipstack at the end of Day 1: 114k (average: 47k, blinds at 600, 1,2k)

Gn8 guys,

Day 2 starts in 4 hours (at 12am ET). Let me run good, just ONE TIME! :)

Busted at early Stages of Day2:
I started with 114k and had a pretty nice table for the start. Was up to 128k before I lost 35k pot with AJ on Jhigh turn vs KK from hyperagressive internetkid. New table, worse story: very active CO raises, I 3bet QQ, he calls. Flop: J9x rainbow, he donkbets, I raise and he shoves JT. 128k pot for a sweet 5outer. Wp sir. Livepoker is rigged. Poker can be crucial sometimes. First 2 showdowns of the tourney and busted.

IHateJuice - NOT!

I don't HateJuice!

At least that early and not Tomorrow evening as bubble. Time for a massage and some holidays, Sports and party now…
Thanks all for the support and sorry to my investors, it was an awesome event and a great experience!

I can’t blame myself for anything and think I played pretty well. And for such a great massage I received afterwards I would love to bust more often like that.

Cya guys, it’s beachtime now!

Day 3 – Registering for 5k HU Event:
I just registered for the 5k HeadsUp Event for tomorrow. I sell up to 50% of my action. Whoever is interested, please contact me via Facebook or the new contact form at my blog.

HUSNG grinders at PCA 2011Yesterday evening was pretty funny. We went to a steakhouse with a lot of those HU SNG regs (Siervos, berndsen12, ScottybCash, diBasio, PrimordialAA, Fishenzon and me), had a great time there and went to a beachbar afterwards which was crowded by drunken Americans. I met a lot of other guys there. It’s so much fun how many people actually know my just cuz of this wasted blog. In the end we were about 12 guys having a lot of fun, especially on our way back to Atlantis when pistons decided to promote my blog. Thanks for that man, I’m so glad I finally met u!

While driving back all guys were totally crazy, drunken and singing. So much fun. And even more when our busdriver told as please not to destroy his bus and “padjes” just said we would buy him a new and better one then. I made a very short video which I have to upload, just because my good friend pistons wanted to support my blog which always will be way better than his. Thx a lot bro!
pistons87 PrimordialAA PlauZee & FishenzonIn that video you can see a lot of sick pokerkids going crazy. Like 10 people who rake more than $2M for Stars every year and are totally drunken after one of those wasted cocktails. A bus full of best PStars’ customers. That’s what makes it even more sad they didn’t pick any of those HU SNG regs for their new Pro Team Online. It’s not I wonder or want to complain they didn’t chose ME, I’m fine with that, I know there are a lot better guys out there, but it’s sick they didn’t pick ANY of us. I mean, nothing against Steve, I was following his blog like 1-2 years ago, but how come he made it last year and all those sickos were ignored to become member of Team Pro Online this year? Did Stars realize they make such a big mistake picking Steve that they are afraid to pick wrong HU SNG guy again? I don’t know, I’m just wondering.

Ah, damn. I wanted to write about party and stuff. Hum, just have a look at those photos. There’s nothing more to tell. Just have a look at my “PCA 2011″ page where I will upload all photos as I did already on facebook.

Railing Day3 PCA Main Event

Today, I finally met treezer and bandano, relaxed at the pool and railed day 3 of PCA MainEvent for like 30 minutes. I played my first online match on the Bahamas today, a 2k match, which I split with Fishenzon. That’s how we were able to pay the dinner afterwards which we took at Cove’s restaurant.
I will probably play some more games in some minutes after I finished updating the blog. Not that I need to prepare myself for the HeadsUp Event tomorrow, but I’m in the mood to grind some right now.

Gl to all of you who will play the 5k HU Event tomorrow and hope I will pick one of those rare “free tickets”. ;)

Gl me,
Chris

PCA: Day 4- 5k HeadsUp Event:
Not that much time to write, but still want to give a short update with a lot of photos from yesterday’s Day1 of the 5k HeadsUp Event.

5k HU Event participators at EPT PCA 2011

5k HU Event participators

The HU Event was capped to 64 players, I knew about 2/3 of them.
I played against Steven Jacobs in the first round. After beating him in the first match, he instantly stood up and ran away. I was wondering if he didn’t know it was best of 3 mode, and he obviously didn’t. After they announced his name in the Conference Room they started to blind him out about 20 minutes later. When he was down about 1/5 of his chips they reached him in his room and he rushed him giving the rail a funny story to talk about. He didn’t blame me for blinding him down and didn’t take it personally. He was pretty pissed they didn’t try to reach him at his room earlier, but he wasn’t angry about me and showed class not to blame me for anything. When I told him after the match who I am he told me he would have done the same and just tried to get refund by PokerStars. No clue if he did. All I know is that his game was very off when he rushed in as I expected it to be. The final hand against Steven: I’m on the button, he has 11 BBs left and before I even saw my hand he went allin, acting out of turn. I had AQ, so I was glad the floorman told him once his chips passed the line and he even announced he is “all in”, he can’t take it back anymore. Eventhough he acted out of turn. And: eventhough he had J5o.

Blinding down Steven Jacobs

Blinding down Steven Jacobs

My 2nd round opponent was a big fish, almost never 3betting, almost never check-raising. And if he did he was only min-raising making it easy to guess what he had and to get great odds to hit. Nevertheless I lost my first match with AQ vs AJ pre allin and my 2nd match as well when he won all of those 4 allins. He was down to 40-60% of his chips 3 times, won every allin and in the end the flip for evenish stakes as well. I crushed him pretty hard and had so much time to grind him down every time before he won another allin. I was pretty pissed and would love to get into round 3 to play against Primo. I can’t blame myself for anything, that what makes it easier one day later.
At least Siervos reached the money I swapped 5% with, so there is still some money to win.

“OU THE NICK” played his 10k staked, 100 hands freeroll vs Isildur yesterday. In the end he was allin with AA vs AK. 93% chance to win $8,000. Flop was KKx. nice catch Isildur.

Isildur vs "OU THE NICK"

Isildur vs "OU THE NICK"

I left the pokerroom at 10.30 pm when Primo had the fish almost crushed in round 3. They will continue today at 4pm ET, updates coming later.
I will meet Sandra Naujoks in 30 mins for breakfast. So there is just some time left to upload some photos from yesterday’s HeadsUp Event.

Cya guys,
Chris

Pieter wins 5k HeadsUp Event!
Pieter de Vries, a well known HU SNG grinder won the PCA 5k HeadsUp Event for $120,000.
Gratulations bro, you really earned that!

Siervos wins PCA 5k HeadsUp Event

"Siervos"

Since yesterday weather is pretty bad, or at least not good enough to enjoy lying at the pool as we could the days before.

After another great party night when I had a funny conversation with Kevin MacPhee, Oliver and me met Sandra Naujoks yesterday to take breakfast together. Sheis PokerStars Pro, most famous German female Poker Pro and the founder of “allin4kids“. Since I’m a supporter of this German charity, I had a very good reason to get in contact with her. Or at least, it made it way more easier to ask for. :)

Founder of Allin4kids Sandra Naujoks

Sandra Naujoks

We talked about 1.5hours about poker stuff, rich poker kids and those poor kids from Kambodsha. About how she founded the charity and what her plans are for the future. It was great to talk to someone who disagree to so many common attitudes of average poker pro’s, I really can’t stand either. I like the way she thinks about different aspects, poker-wise and non-poker stuff and have to admit, I wasn’t expecting to talk about those things that deeply and personally. She has a really interesting personality, is doing great work for the charity and I hope I will meet her very soon again. I promise, next time I won’t have a hangover and will be better shaved. Shame an me. Thx a lot, Sandra!

In the afternoon I played some games with Fishenzon, railed the 5k HeadsUp Event and played two 2ks against Isildur as I wrote in my last post already. I spoke with him several times already, treezer went clubbing with him and he’s a pretty nice and funny guy, just a bit weird from time to time. But guess, that’s how almost all of those sickos are. I made some photos of treezer’s hotelroom with Fishenzon’s camera. I will upload them soon, then you will know what I’m talking about! :D

action by fish for PlauZee

Gimme action, fishies!

We finally visited the huge aquarium where we saw even more fishes at one place than in the ConferenceRoom. They just didn’t seem to be that degenerated tho. We went to the spa today, had a Swedish massage (what else?! thx once again, Isildur!) and relaxed all afternoon. When I came to the Conference Room the HeadsUp Event was already finished, so I couldn’t take any photos, but will hopefully get some from other railers.

Tonight it’s players party what I was looking forward to all week already. Since somebody I took breakfast with recently told me there are usually like 95% pokerplayers and 5% hookers, I’m not that excited anymore. But let’s see. There is at least good reason to party for us HU SNG players, since Pieter turned not only my trip into a trip with profit.

At least a good place to meet those guys once again and to take some photos before we will fly back to Germany on Sunday. I will miss thx daily view from balcony!

Tomorrow is the final table of the PCA MainEvent. Don’t expect to find any news or stuff here though, I don’t care about it at all, so we booked a sightseeintrip through Bahamas. Hopefully weather will be better, so we can enjoy the Aquaventure as well.

PCA 2011 Review:

ekko1 Liv Boeree PlauZee

Nice to meet u, Liv.

PCA was fkn awesome! Pokerwise I think I did pretty well for my very first big event eventho I didn’t make it into the money. I made it into day 2 of the MainEvent where I busted very unlucky as I did in the 5k HeadsUp Event. I didn’t play any other events and no CashGame at all. I played some games online, but enjoyed the great Atlantis Ressort and the great parties most of the time.

It was really funny how many guys came and spoke with me, just because they knew my fishy blog. But funniest moments were when Oliver and me met one of those Pro’s he had no clue about. We sat next to Andrew Robl at breakfast, talked to Isildur several times, talked to Benyamine while going up in Cove, made photos with Vanessa Rousso, Liv Boeree, Daniel Negreanu, Greg Raymer, played and spoke 3hours with later PCA MainEvent winner Galen Hall and former German footballplayer Paolo Rink and had breakfast with Sandra Naujoks. At least during the breakfast with Sandra, Oliver realized why she is not one of those millions players, but unique.
Thanks for all those mails of jealous guys who wanted to be Oliver for those 10 days, but I’m glad I took him with me. We had a great time on the Bahamas and I’m sure there will be another possibility to have some more fun soon! My next live Event will probably be EPT Berlin when I hope to see most of you again.

Thanks a lot to ekko, who took a ton of party photos at our greatest partynight at PCA!

Thx for everyone following my facebook & blog! It was fun to see how the stats of my blog changed during the PCA…
Hope to see you soon and wish you all the best for 2011!
Chris
